In Psych season 5 episode 10 "Extradition II: The Actual Extradition Part," Shawn and Gus travel to Vancouver to help Juliet track down an escaped Canadian prisoner named Pierre Despereaux (Cary Elwes). Despereaux had been on loan to the Santa Barbara police department as a consultant, but he managed to escape during a trial in California. Since Despereaux is a master thief who has been able to evade capture for years, Juliet enlists Shawn and Gus' help to track him down in Vancouver, where he is rumored to be hiding out.
When they arrive in Vancouver, Shawn and Gus meet up with Juliet and they begin their search for Despereaux. However, things get complicated when they discover that the Canadian authorities want Despereaux for a different crime than the one he was accused of in the U.S. Furthermore, they learn that Despereaux has several aliases and it's difficult to figure out his true identity.
As they try to unravel the mystery of Despereaux's true identity and whereabouts, Shawn and Gus encounter a variety of colorful characters, including a group of French-Canadian jewel thieves and a Canadian Mountie who takes his job very seriously. Through it all, Shawn's usual antics and quirky observations keep the case moving forward, while Gus is his usual skeptical and practical self.
As the team starts to close in on Despereaux, they discover that he has a much larger plan in motion, one that could potentially cause chaos in both the U.S. and Canada. It's up to Shawn and Gus to stop him before it's too late.
With plenty of humor, suspense, and clever twists, "Extradition II: The Actual Extradition Part" is a standout episode in the Psych series. Fans of the show will enjoy the return of Cary Elwes as Despereaux, as well as the usual hijinks from Shawn and Gus. Newcomers to the show will find this episode to be a great introduction to the wacky world of Psych.
