In Project Runway season 10 episode 2, titled "Candy Couture," the contestants are tasked with creating an avant-garde look using candy as inspiration. Tim Gunn visits the workroom to offer guidance and criticism to the designers as they sketch out their ideas and select their candy choices.
As the contestants begin putting their designs together, tensions rise as some struggle to incorporate the candy in a way that doesn't look tacky or costume-like. The pressure of the competition starts to weigh heavily on some of the designers, and several arguments break out over fabric choices and design decisions.
On the day of the runway show, the judges, consisting of designer Michael Kors, model Heidi Klum, and fashion editor Nina Garcia, assess each designer's work closely. Some looks impress the judges, such as one contestant's daring use of cotton candy as a material, while others fall flat, with poor execution and unsophisticated design ideas.
After the runway presentations, the judges confer and ultimately decide which designer will be eliminated from the competition. The tension is palpable as the contestants await their fate, with some visibly shaken by the prospect of being sent home so early in the competition.
In the end, the judges make their decision and send one designer packing. The remaining contestants must regroup and focus on the challenges ahead, knowing that the competition will only get tougher as they continue to strive towards the ultimate prize of being named the winner of Project Runway season 10.
