After a two-month hiatus, Private Practice season 4 episode 14 titled "Home Again" returns to delve deeper into the lives of the staff at the Seaside Wellness Center.
The episode starts with Violet receiving a distressing phone call from her mother. She learns that her brother has gone missing from a psychiatric facility and is struggling to come to terms with the news. Meanwhile, Cooper and Charlotte continue to work on saving their marriage, but things take a turn for the worse when the couple receives some heartbreaking news.
In an effort to support Violet, her friends and colleagues rally around her, but her stubbornness and tendency to keep things bottled up leave them concerned. As they all grapple with their own personal demons, they come to realize that reopening old wounds may just be the key to healing.
As the episode progresses, we see the characters confronting past traumas and learning to move forward. Sam struggles with the aftermath of his break up with Naomi and deals with the complications that arise when he starts to develop feelings for Addison. Meanwhile, Amelia helps a young patient who reminds her of herself and the experiences that led her to addiction.
The tension in the episode continues to mount with the arrival of Naomi and the possible threat of losing patients. She offers to take over the practice to help but tensions rise and Addison gets involved to protect what she has built.
As the episode wraps up, all of the characters find some sort of resolution. Violet finally opens up about her childhood traumas, Sam and Addison work through their feelings, and Cooper and Charlotte's marriage seems to be on the mend. Overall, "Home Again" proves to be a powerful and emotional episode that explores the themes of loss, trauma, and healing.
