Prank Encounters is a hidden camera show where two complete strangers think that they are starting a new job, only to find out that they are actually being pranked. The show is hosted by Gaten Matarazzo, who is best known for his role in Stranger Things. Each episode features two separate pranks, with the first episode entitled "Teddy Scare."
In "Teddy Scare," we meet two unsuspecting victims named Justin and Sabrina. Justin thinks that he is starting a new job at a toy store, while Sabrina believes she is starting a new job at a pet store. Upon arriving, they meet their coworkers, who are all actors in on the prank. After a short introduction and a few tasks, the pranking begins.
Justin is tasked with unpacking a shipment of stuffed animals. Little does he know, one of the stuffed animals is actually a person in a teddy bear suit. As he unpacks the box, the "teddy bear" comes to life, scaring Justin out of his mind. He tries to escape the store, but the doors are all locked, trapping him inside.
Meanwhile, Sabrina is tasked with taking care of some of the store's animals, including a tarantula. She has a fear of spiders, so this task is already causing her a lot of anxiety. However, things get much worse when the tarantula "escapes" from its cage and crawls up Sabrina's arm. She starts screaming and flailing around, trying to get the spider off of her.
As the pranks continue, both Justin and Sabrina are pushed to their limits. They start to realize that something isn't quite right and become suspicious of their coworkers. However, the pranks only get more intense, leaving them completely shocked and frightened.
In the end, Gaten surprises Justin and Sabrina and reveals that they have been pranked. They are shocked and relieved to find out that it wasn't real, but they are also a little bit angry at the people who pulled the prank. However, they are good sports about it and laugh it off in the end.
"Teddy Scare" is a hilarious and thrilling first episode of Prank Encounters. The pranks are well-planned and executed perfectly, leading to some truly hilarious moments. However, it is also a bit scary at times, especially when the victims are pushed to their limits. Gaten is an excellent host and does a great job of keeping the audience engaged throughout the episode. If you're a fan of hidden camera shows or just looking for a good laugh, Prank Encounters is definitely worth checking out.
