Ep 3. In House Power Mouse: Stage II Part II
- January 23, 2016
In this episode of PowerNation: Engine Power, the team picks up where they left off in their Stage II build on the beloved '57 Chevy 150 known as the In House Power Mouse. With their sights set on pushing the car past the 1,000 horsepower mark, the team dives back into the engine to finish up some last-minute upgrades.
The episode begins with the team installing a new set of rocker arms, which they hope will help to increase performance and prevent any engine misfires. Afterward, they move on to fitting the engine with a brand new intake manifold, which the team hopes will be able to provide enough air for the engine to reach its full potential.
With the new additions in place, the entire engine is given a test run, during which the team looks for any signs of weakness or failure. Upon inspection, they notice that the engine is running lean, which could cause serious damage if left unchecked. The team works to fix the problem by adding an extra fuel pump to help supply the engine with more fuel. Once complete, they hit the dynamometer to check if the car is producing more than the previous 951 horsepower output.
After intense tests, the results show that the engine is not quite hitting the 1,000 horsepower mark. The team decides to add a new set of headers to the engine, which they hope will provide enough airflow to get the engine over the hump. With the headers installed, the team takes the car back out on the dynamometer for another round of tests.
In the final moments of the episode, the team hits the 1,000 horsepower milestone on the dyno, which is a significant achievement. They wrap up their work, and the In House Power Mouse is ready to tackle any challenge that comes its way.
Overall, this episode of PowerNation: Engine Power is an action-packed show filled with plenty of upgrades and tests as the team works to push the In House Power Mouse to its limits. Viewers get a behind-the-scenes look at the intricate engineering process of building a high-performance engine and witness firsthand how a few modifications can take a car from great to exceptional. If you're a fan of cars and high-performance engines, this episode is not to be missed.
