Richard and Tommy are back in the shop for another episode of Detroit Muscle, and they've got their work cut out for them. This week's project is a 1967 Chevy Nova, which has a few issues under the hood, but the biggest problem is the windshield. It's cracked in multiple places and needs to be replaced.
The first order of business is removing the old windshield, which proves to be more difficult than expected. The glue holding the glass in place is incredibly strong, and it takes a lot of elbow grease to pry it loose. Once the glass is out, the team discovers even more problems. The windshield frame is rusted and needs to be repaired before they can install the new windshield.
Fortunately, Richard and Tommy are experts at this kind of work. They set to work repairing the rust and reinforcing the frame to ensure that the new windshield will be secure. While they're at it, they also install new weatherstripping to prevent water from getting inside the car.
Next, it's time to install the new windshield, which is a delicate process. The glass has to be carefully aligned with the frame, and the team takes their time to make sure everything is just right. Once the windshield is in place, it's time to reattach the wiper arms and test everything out.
With the new windshield in place, the Nova is starting to look much better. However, there's still work to be done under the hood. The team discovers that the carburetor is in need of a rebuild, and they set to work disassembling it and cleaning all the parts. This is another delicate process, as each part has to be cleaned thoroughly to ensure that it's free of dirt and debris.
Once the carburetor is reassembled and back on the car, the team turns their attention to the engine. They notice that there's a lot of carbon buildup in the combustion chambers, which is causing the engine to run rough. To fix this, they decide to run a fuel system cleaner through the engine, which should clear out the carbon and get it running smoothly again.
Finally, it's time for the ultimate test: a test drive. The team takes the Nova out on the road to see how it performs, and they're pleased with the results. The engine is running smoothly, the windshield is crystal clear, and the car is handling well. Richard and Tommy have once again worked their magic and turned a broken-down old car into a thing of beauty.
Overall, this episode of Detroit Muscle is a great showcase for Richard and Tommy's skills as mechanics. They tackle a tough problem with the windshield and show off their expertise when it comes to engine repair. Fans of the show will love watching them in action and seeing how they take an old car and make it run like new again.
