Ep 40. The Impenetrable Web (1)
- November 14, 1998
The Power Rangers have a new challenge to face in season 6, episode 40 - The Impenetrable Web (1). They face a powerful new villain, who has woven an impenetrable web around Angel Grove. With this web in place, the Power Rangers find themselves unable to enter or leave the city, leaving them stranded inside their own home.
As the Rangers try to find a way out of the city, they also must face a new enemy: a maniacal monster named Arachnor who was released from the web along with them. The team is forced to fight their new foe in the streets of Angel Grove, but they quickly realize that their weapons and Zords are useless against him. It quickly becomes clear that they will need to come up with a new plan if they hope to defeat this powerful enemy.
Despite being trapped, the Rangers begin to try and find a way out of Angel Grove, but find that the web is too overwhelming and they can't figure out a way to destroy it. In an effort to find a solution, the team splits up and each member tries to find a way to break through the web.
Meanwhile, the villain who created the web, known only as the Webmaster, is revealed to be a highly intelligent and technologically advanced criminal who's been working on his plan for months. He's also got a vast array of weapons and technology at his disposal, and he'll stop at nothing to ensure that the Power Rangers never leave Angel Grove again.
As the Power Rangers work to break through the web and defeat Arachnor, they're forced to deal with internal conflicts within the group. Some members doubt their ability to defeat the Webmaster and his web, while others begin to think that they should trust their instincts and take the fight straight to the source.
In the end, the episode leaves fans on a cliffhanger, with the web still in place and the fate of the Power Rangers hanging in the balance. Despite this, fans are left excited for the next episode and eager to see how the Rangers will take down the Webmaster and finally escape from Angel Grove.
