Watch Power and Ice

Power and Ice is a reality television series that aired on History from 2015 to 2016. The show follows the day-to-day struggles of a group of Alaskan workers as they try to maintain and operate critical power infrastructure in one of the harshest environments in the world.

Set in the remote community of Cordova, Alaska, Power and Ice showcases the unique challenges that come with providing electricity to a town that is largely cut off from the rest of the world. The series stars Mike New, a veteran worker with more than a decade of experience in the industry, as he leads his team through everything from minor power outages to major equipment failures.

Throughout the series, viewers get a first-hand look at the various methods the workers use to keep the power on, even in the face of brutally cold temperatures, heavy snowfall, and high winds. From repairing damaged power lines to climbing dangerously tall transmission towers, the team uses a combination of cutting-edge technology and old-fashioned grit to get the job done.
