Along the way, they face many problems, such as getting Max to overcome his fear of crowds, and getting his howling right.
The Pound Puppies also try to help Strickland's daughter, Nancy, by getting her to join forces with Max and help him with his vocal practice. Together they come up with a beautiful melody that will surely heat up the stage. On their way to the audition, they face various challenges such as traffic and Max's shyness returning. However, they manage to get through it together and arrive just in time for the auditions.
As Max and Nancy perform on stage, they steal the show with their beautiful melody and perfectly synced performance. The judges are extremely impressed with them and invite them to compete in the Grand Talent Show. The Pound Puppies are thrilled with the turnout and all their efforts finally paying off.
Towards the end, we see how Max, with the help of Nancy, gains the confidence to perform on the stage in front of a large audience.
