  • October 17, 2007

Bracelet Winners return to the green felt for the third night of high-stakes action on Poker After Dark's season 2. This episode features a lineup of renowned poker players who have each earned coveted World Series of Poker bracelets over the course of their careers. The table is set for an intense clash of poker titans, with over $200,000 on the line.

The episode opens with a rundown of the players at the table. Lee Watkinson, a two-time bracelet winner, is the chip leader with $105,000 in front of him. Tony G, known for his brash attitude and aggressive play, is close behind with $97,000. Phil Hellmuth, winner of a record 15 WSOP bracelets, takes his seat with a stack of $83,000, while fellow bracelet winners Antonio Esfandiari, Ted Forrest, and David 'Devilfish' Ulliott round out the lineup.

The first few hands of the night see players sizing each other up and feeling out the table dynamic. It's not until a few orbits in that the first big pot of the night arises. With blinds at $300/$600, Devilfish raises to $2,000 from early position with king-queen suited. Phil Hellmuth, on the button with ace-queen suited, decides to reraise to $6,000. Devilfish doesn't slow down, making the call. The flop comes 10-8-5 with two diamonds, giving Devilfish a flush draw. He checks, Hellmuth bets $8,000, and Devilfish calls. The turn is the ace of diamonds, giving Hellmuth top pair and Devilfish his flush. Devilfish checks, Hellmuth bets $15,000, and Devilfish check-raises to $45,000. Hellmuth tanks for a few minutes before ultimately folding, giving Devilfish a significant pot.

As the night wears on, tensions rise and the action heats up. Antonio Esfandiari, who had been relatively quiet thus far, finds himself involved in a massive pot against Tony G. With blinds at $500/$1,000 and a $200 ante, Esfandiari raises to $3,500 with pocket jacks. Tony G, on the button with king-queen suited, calls. The flop comes king-queen-jack, giving Esfandiari a set and Tony G top two pair. Esfandiari leads out with a bet of $5,500, and Tony G calls. The turn is the jack of diamonds, giving Esfandiari quads. He checks to Tony G, who bets $15,000. Esfandiari, looking to trap, just calls. The river is the seven of diamonds, putting a potential flush on the board. Esfandiari checks again, and Tony G bets $23,000. Esfandiari springs the trap, raising to $65,000. Tony G, smelling something fishy, agonizes for several minutes before making the call. Esfandiari shows his quads, and Tony G laments his hero call gone wrong.

The final hand of the night leaves the table stunned. With blinds at $1,500/$3,000 and a $500 ante, Devilfish raises to $9,000 with ace-king offsuit. Ted Forrest, with pocket aces, decides to just call. The flop comes king-queen-four, giving Devilfish top pair and Forrest the nut flush draw. Devilfish bets $10,000, and Forrest calls. The turn is the seven of hearts, not improving either player's hand. Devilfish bets $25,000, and Forrest makes the call. The river is the two of hearts, completing Forrest's flush. Devilfish bets all-in for his remaining $43,000, hoping to bluff Forrest off his hand. Forrest deliberates for a long time before finally making the call, revealing his flush and sending Devilfish to the rail.

With Devilfish's elimination, the night comes to a close. Lee Watkinson emerges as the big winner of the night, taking home over $60,000. Tony G and Phil Hellmuth, two of the more vocal players at the table, engage in several heated exchanges throughout the night. The Bracelet Winners theme proves to be a hit, with the poker legends showcasing their skills and leaving viewers eager for more.
