Ep 40. That's Just Swellow

Ash and his friends arrive at a Pokémon center and are greeted by Nurse Joy. Joy explains to the group that they've all been invited to join the Pokémon Center's annual Swellow race, which takes place high up in the mountains. The race is designed to test a trainer's Swellow's endurance and speed.

Ash, Max, and Brock are excited about the race, but May is unsure if she and her Swellow should participate. Joy reassures her that her Swellow has what it takes to succeed in the race.

The day of the race arrives, and the trainers and their Swellows are transported to the starting line. The race consists of five different checkpoints, and the trainers and their Pokémon must navigate through each one to complete the race.

As the race begins, Ash and Pikachu take an early lead, closely followed by Max and Swellow. May and her Swellow are lagging behind, but May stays positive and encourages her Pokémon to keep going.

At the first checkpoint, Ash and Pikachu maintain their lead, but May and Swellow catch up and are right behind them. However, as they prepare to take off for the second checkpoint, May's Swellow suddenly becomes exhausted and unable to fly.

May is devastated and worried about her Pokémon's health. She takes Swellow to the nearby Pokémon Center for a check-up, while the other trainers continue on with the race.

At the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy examines Swellow and informs May that her Pokémon is suffering from exhaustion and needs to rest. May is determined to get Swellow back in the race, but Joy advises her against it, warning that it could be dangerous for Swellow's health.

Back at the race, Ash and Pikachu are leading the pack, but Max and his Swellow are close behind. As they fly towards the fourth checkpoint, they suddenly see a familiar figure in the sky – it's Swellow!

May has arrived at the race with her rejuvenated Swellow and is ready to finish the race. Swellow flies towards Ash and Max's Swellows, determined to catch up and win.

The three Swellows face off in a thrilling race to the finish line. Ash and Max's Swellows are neck and neck, but Swellow suddenly pulls ahead, leaving the other two Pokémon in the dust.

As Swellow crosses the finish line, May cheers in excitement. She's proud of her Pokémon for not only finishing the race but also for winning. Ash and Max congratulate May on her victory, and May thanks Joy for helping her Swellow recover.

The episode ends with the group celebrating Swellow's win at the Pokémon Center. May is proud of her partner and grateful for the support of her friends.
