Ep 32. The Bicker the Better

Ash, May, Max, and Brock are on their way to Mauville City where Ash’s next gym challenge awaits. As they journey through the woods, the group comes across a bickering couple, named Zane and Natalie. Zane and Natalie are both Pokémon trainers, but they argue and fight constantly, their Pokémon caught in the middle of their bickering. When Zane's Electabuzz and Natalie's Pikachu get into a fight, the group steps in to break it up. Zane and Natalie argue over whose Pokémon is at fault, but Ash and the gang quickly realize that the problem runs deeper than just their two Pokémon.

The couple has been arguing about everything from which direction to travel to which Pokémon is better, and the tension has clearly been building for quite some time. Ash and his friends try to help the couple reconcile by taking them on a hike to an overlook that provides a stunning view of the surrounding area. However, as they climb higher up the mountain, Zane and Natalie's bickering grows louder and more intense.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket has been eavesdropping on the group’s conversation and hatch a plan to steal Ash's Pikachu. As they make their move, Pikachu quickly thwarts their plan, and they make a quick escape. Zane and Natalie witness the encounter and, to Ash's surprise, they put aside their differences long enough to help Ash and his friends track down Team Rocket.

With their Pokémon working together, the group is able to easily find Team Rocket, and a battle ensues. During the fight, Zane and Natalie's Pokémon work together seamlessly, which makes them realize that their petty arguments about Pokémon types have been holding them back. In a touching moment, the couple apologizes to each other and agrees to put their arguments behind them.

As they all continue on their journey, Zane and Natalie tell Ash that they will work together to become the strongest trainers they can be, a true testament to the power of teamwork. The episode ends with the group parting ways with Zane and Natalie, wishing them luck in their future endeavors.
