Ep 29. Love, Petalburg Style!

Ash and his friends arrive in Petalburg City, where Ash hopes to challenge Norman, the Gym Leader and also May's father. While visiting May's house, Ash and his friends meet Caroline, May's mother, who invites them to dinner and introduces her family's pride and joy, a garden filled with beautiful and rare Pokemon.

May's little brother Max, being the smart and curious kid that he is, shows Ash and Pikachu an old diary he found hidden in the garden. The diary belongs to May's grandmother, who just happened to be a famous Pokemon trainer from Petalburg City herself. As they read through the diary, they discover that May's grandmother fell in love with a boy from a rival family who lived in the city.

They also learn that their families had been feuding for years because of a disagreement over the best way to care for their respective gardens. The feud caused May's grandmother's lover to leave town, breaking her heart and leaving her alone. May's grandmother continued to care for her garden, but it was never the same, and she never forgot the boy she loved and lost.

Hearing this story, May wonders if her family's feud is the reason why she and her father have been growing apart. Ash and his friends decide to do something to try to fix the situation, and with May's help, they come up with a plan. They visit the boy's family, who are now running a flower shop, and ask if they would be willing to help reconcile the two families by creating a new garden together.

The boy's family agrees, and they work together to create a beautiful garden that combines the best of both families' styles. They call it the Love Garden, and it becomes a symbol of peace and harmony between the two families. Norman and May's father are moved by the gesture and are reminded of the importance of family, and they reconcile their differences.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket is working on their latest plan to catch Pikachu, but they get caught up in the beauty of the Love Garden and decide to take a break from their usual villainy to enjoy the flowers.

In the end, Ash and his friends say goodbye to May and her family, but not before promising to remember the lesson they learned: that love and friendship are the most important things in life.
