Ash, Brock, and Misty are on a journey through Hoenn. As they travel to their next destination, they receive a message from Professor Oak, informing them that the Pokedexes they have been using are outdated and that there are new models available. The trio decides to head back to Pallet Town to get the new Pokedexes.

On their way back, they run into some familiar faces: Gary Oak, Ritchie, and Harrison. The three trainers have also received the message from Professor Oak and are heading to Pallet Town as well. They all decide to travel together.

As they journey towards Pallet Town, they encounter several obstacles. They have to navigate through a maze in order to get to the next town, and they have to cross a river infested with ferocious Goldeen. Despite the challenges, they make it to Pallet Town.

Once they arrive, they discover that the Pokedex trade-in event is over and they missed their chance to get the new Pokedexes. Disappointed, Ash, Misty, and Brock decide to head back to Hoenn. Gary, Ritchie, and Harrison, on the other hand, decide to stay in Pallet Town for a while.

Before parting ways, Ash and his friends reminisce about their adventures together. They reflect on how much they have grown and how far they have come. With a light hearted goodbye the friends say see you later.

As Ash, Misty, and Brock journey back to Hoenn, they come across a fork in the road. Misty suggests they go one way, while Brock suggests they go another way. Ash, unsure which direction to take, asks Pikachu for its opinion. Pikachu only responds with a shrug.

Ash realizes that it's time for him to make a decision on his own, without relying on the guidance of his Pokedex or his Pokemon. He declares that he will choose his own path and decides to go a third direction. Misty and Brock follow him, trusting his instincts.

As the three friends journey towards their next destination and a new set of Pokémon they are ready to face whatever challenges come their way. As the journey comes to an end you can’t help but feel nostalgic for the adventures and memories Ash has made since he first set out on his journey. Surprised at how far he, and his pokemon, have come.
