Ash and his companions come across a Pokémon breeding center located on a small island while on their way to the Johto League. Nurse Joy greets them and explains that the breeding center takes care of Pokémon eggs. Ash and his friends are amazed by the sight of various Pokémon eggs.
As they enter the center, they see many trainers looking after different types of eggs. Nurse Joy tells them that the trainers help take care of the eggs, providing them with food and other essentials. Ash and his companions want to know more about the hatching process, and are told that the key to hatching a Pokémon egg is to provide a warm environment.
Seeing the excitement on their faces, Nurse Joy offers Ash and his friends the opportunity to participate in the breeding process. She hands over some Pokémon eggs to them and asks them to take care of them. Ash and his friends are thrilled and accept the offer.
Ash and his companions meet Todd, a photographer who is also there to take pictures of the hatching event. The group gets excited as they see their eggs start to hatch one by one. They cheer as they welcome new Pokémon to the world.
As they continue the hatching process, the trainers are shocked to see that one of the eggs is not hatching. They tell Ash and his friends that this is not a good sign, as it's possible that something is wrong with the egg. However, Ash is determined to ensure that the egg hatches and wants to do everything possible to make that happen.
The group decides to take the Pokémon egg with them and go on a journey to find a place where the egg can hatch. Ash and his friends trek through the forest and eventually reach a hot spring. They hope that the warmth of the spring will help the egg hatch. They place the egg in a warm spot and wait.
As they wait, they see two trainers, one with a Bagon and the other with a Shelgon. They soon discover that the trainers are siblings and are trying to hatch a Salamence. They inform Ash and his friends that Salamence was once their grandfather's Pokémon, who was the strongest trainer in the area. The grandfather had left the egg with them before he passed away, and they have been trying to hatch it ever since.
The group is touched by the sibling's story and decides to help them hatch their egg too. Ash and his companions try different methods to warm the eggs and provide them with the perfect environment for hatching. After a lot of effort and numerous attempts, the eggs finally start to crack.
The suspense of waiting to see which Pokémon emerges from the eggs makes for a thrilling and nail-biting sequence. Will the eggs hatch successfully? Will the group be able to help the siblings hatch the Salamence egg? And what kind of Pokémon will emerge from the egg that Ash and his friends are caring for?
