Ash and his friends are still on their journey to the Johto region. In this episode titled "Turning Over A New Bayleef", Ash and the gang arrive in Azalea Town. As they explore the town, they stumble upon a park with a group of trainers practicing their Pokémon battle skills. Ash decides to challenge one of the trainers to a battle, but before the battle can begin, a wild Bayleef appears.
The trainer explains that the Bayleef used to belong to the town's Gym Leader, but he released her into the wild because she was too difficult to train. Everyone is surprised to learn that Bayleef used to belong to a Gym Leader and Ash is eager to catch her.
Ash and his Pokemon team try to catch Bayleef, but she proves to be too fast and agile. Seeing the potential in Bayleef, Ash decides to capture her using a more strategic approach. Ash and Pikachu manage to distract Bayleef while Chikorita sneaks up from behind to capture her.
After successfully capturing Bayleef, Ash and his friends learn that she is a difficult Pokemon to train. Bayleef is not very obedient and does not respond well to commands. Despite this, Ash is determined to train her and turn her into a powerful asset to his team.
As Ash tries to train Bayleef with simple commands and battle techniques, Bayleef continues to ignore him and disobey his orders. Meanwhile, Team Rocket has their sights set on capturing Bayleef. They follow Ash and his friends and plan to capture her when she is at her weakest.
During a battle with Team Rocket, Bayleef finally listens to Ash's commands and is able to help defeat Team Rocket with her newfound strength and agility. From that moment on, Bayleef becomes a more responsive and obedient Pokemon, always eager to help Ash and his team.
In the end, Ash and his friends learn that with patience and determination, even the most difficult Pokemon can be trained and tamed. They continue on their journey with a stronger and more confident team, thanks to Bayleef's newfound loyalty and strength.
