Ash and his friends arrive at a small town where they discover that the annual Dunsparce race is being held. The Dunsparce race is a traditional event where trainers compete against each other using Dunsparce, a small and snake-like Pokémon. The race is considered to be a prestigious event, and the winner gets a prize of 1 million Pokédollars.
Ash and his friends meet a young trainer named Marcellus, who has entered the race with his Dunsparce. Marcellus is confident that he will win the race, but his rival, a trainer named Oscar, is determined to beat him. Oscar is known for using dirty tactics, and he has a reputation for cheating in races.
As the race begins, Marcellus and Oscar quickly take the lead, and the other trainers are left far behind. However, Ash notices that Oscar is using illegal tactics to win the race. Oscar has trained his Dunsparce to use its tail to trip up the other trainers, causing them to fall and lose precious time.
Ash decides to confront Oscar about cheating, but Oscar denies everything and accuses Ash of being a sore loser. Ash and his friends decide to investigate and find evidence of Oscar's cheating. They talk to other trainers who confirm that Oscar has a reputation for cheating.
Meanwhile, Marcellus is struggling to keep up with Oscar, and his Dunsparce seems to be slowing down. Ash and his friends discover that Marcellus's Dunsparce is sick, and it won't be able to finish the race. They inform Marcellus of the situation, and he is devastated.
Ash and his friends decide to take matters into their own hands. They recruit a new Dunsparce for Marcellus to use in the race. The new Dunsparce is powerful and fast, and it gives Marcellus a fighting chance to win the race.
As the race continues, Marcellus and Oscar are neck and neck, and it looks like it could be anyone's game. However, Oscar decides to cheat again, and he uses his Dunsparce's tail to knock Marcellus's Dunsparce off course. Marcellus and his Dunsparce fall, and it seems like the race is over for them.
But Ash and his friends aren't ready to give up yet. They encourage Marcellus to get back on his feet and finish the race. Marcellus and his Dunsparce get up and start running again, determined to finish what they started. Oscar sees this and realizes that he can't win by cheating.
In a surprising turn of events, Oscar stops his Dunsparce and lets Marcellus and his Dunsparce cross the finish line first. Oscar admits that he was wrong to cheat and that he should have played fair. The other trainers applaud Marcellus for his determination and sportsmanship, and Marcellus is declared the winner of the race.
In the end, Ash and his friends continue on their journey, proud of the fact that they were able to help Marcellus win the Dunsparce race. They also learned an important lesson about the importance of playing fair and being a good sport.
