Ash and his friends find themselves in a snowy region as they continue their journey to the Johto region. Ash's Corphish, who loves to play around, accidentally falls into a freezing lake and is rescued by a kind-hearted girl named Lizabeth. Lizabeth takes the group to her grandfather, who is a renowned photographer, to warm up and dry off. The grandfather shows the group his latest work, a series of photographs of a legendary creature called Suicune, which he believes he has finally captured on camera. However, the pictures are blurry and out of focus, leaving doubt in the minds of Ash and his friends.

Despite this, Lizabeth is determined to prove her grandfather's work and sets out to capture Suicune on film once again. The group accompanies her as she treks through the frozen wilderness, but over time, they begin to feel the effects of the cold. They stumble upon an abandoned research station where they find shelter and supplies to keep themselves warm and fed. They also uncover information about the legendary creatures and their role in the world.

As Lizabeth's obsession with capturing Suicune grows, Ash begins to feel uneasy. He worries that the girl's determination may lead her to dangerous situations, and he becomes more and more concerned as they encounter strange creatures and phenomena in the wilderness. Eventually, they come face-to-face with Suicune, and it becomes clear that the creature is not what they expected.

In the end, Lizabeth learns an important lesson about the value of experiences over possessions. Ash and his friends continue on their journey, taking with them newfound knowledge and appreciation for the natural world.
