Ash, Misty, and Tracey are on their way to the Orange Islands when they come across a huge transportation system of Lapras on the sea. They find out that the Lapras are being used for ferrying people all around the Orange Islands. The person in charge of this fleet of Lapras is Gomez. He has been doing this job for many years and takes great pride in it.

Soon after, they receive a distress call from the Lapras that Gomez is in trouble. Upon arriving, they find out that a group of poachers is trying to capture all the Lapras. Ash and his friends team up with Gomez to protect the Lapras. Amidst all this chaos, they find a young boy, Pietra, whose parents have been captured by the poachers. He is left behind to take care of a baby Lapras.

Ash and his friends take Pietra under their wing and vow to save his parents. Gomez suggests they head to the nearest town to gather more people to help in their fight against the poachers. As they reach the town, they are welcomed by a giant parade led by a famous magician named Melvin. Melvin puts on a grand show in honor of the Lapras and offers to help in their fight against the poachers.

As they set out to save the Lapras, the group quickly realizes that the poachers are using a device that emits a high-pitched sound that harms the Lapras, forcing them to come towards the poachers. Ash and his friends come up with a plan to lure the Lapras away from the poachers. They use the sound of Melvin's trumpet to lead the Lapras towards safety.

Their plan works, and the Lapras are freed. During this fight, Pietra's parents are rescued too, and they are reunited with their son. Gomez is grateful to Ash and his friends for helping to save the Lapras, and in turn, promises to assist Ash and his friends in any way he can to help them in their journey.

As they bid farewell to Pietra and his parents, Ash and his group head towards their next adventure. The episode ends on a happy note with all the Lapras safely swimming in the sea.
