Ash and his friends arrive at the Battle Royal Dome, where they are welcomed by its owner, Mr. Dome. He explains the rules of the Battle Royal - a format where four Trainers face off in a free-for-all battle, and the last one standing wins. The winner is then allowed to challenge the Battle Royal Dome's Top Coordinator, Master Royal, in a special match.
