Ash and his friends have finally arrived in Coumarine City where the Master Class is about to take place. Excited to compete, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie cannot wait for the competition to begin, while Ash is determined to add the Master Class Championship to his list of achievements.
The trio meets up with Shauna and Nini who are also participating in the Master Class. They exchange pleasantries and show off their Pokemon, each hoping to gain a competitive edge over the other. They soon come across Palermo, the head of the Pokemon Showcase Master Class, who is to judge the competition.
The Master Class begins with a parade of the contestants in their formal clothes. The crowd roars as the participants showcase their talents and display their Pokemon in front of the judges in an attempt to impress them. Once the parade ends, it's time for the competition to begin, starting with the appeal round.
Clemont is the first one to take the stage, and he demonstrates his creativity by using his Aipom Arm to throw Pokeballs. He then calls upon his Luxray to perform a powerful Thunderbolt attack to wow the audience. Although the performance is impressive, he receives criticism from Palermo, who says that there wasn't enough coordination between Clemont and his Pokemon during the performance.
Next up is Serena, who performs a dance routine with her Braixen. She incorporates moves and poses that showcase Braixen's agility and power, but the real showstopper is the final pose where she jumps onto Braixen's tail. Though her performance is good, Palermo suggests that it could have been better.
Nini follows Serena, and she showcases her Smoochum's cuteness by having it play an imaginary violin. While the crowd cheers for her, Palermo notices that the performance lacks a certain flair.
Shauna takes the stage next and performs a routine with her Florges that demonstrates the bond between them. She glides across the stage with her graceful movements while Florges uses its petal dance to create a beautiful display. Although the performance is beautiful, Palermo says that it had some "empty spaces."
Finally, it's Ash's turn. He and Pikachu perform a synchronized dance, displaying their incredible coordination as they perform flips and jumps effortlessly. They finish their performance with an electric power move that leaves the audience in awe. Palermo, impressed with Ash's performance, says that it was executed flawlessly.
After the appeal round, it's time for the battle round. The contestants are given two minutes to demonstrate their skills against each other. Serena takes on Nini, Clemont takes on Shauna, and Ash takes on a powerful Trainer named Remo.
Serena and Nini's battle heats up, with Nini using a combination of double team and attract moves to confuse Serena, who retaliates with a powerful Flame Charge from Braixen. Nini is able to dodge the attack, but Serena is quick to follow up with another powerful fire move, which ultimately leads to her victory.
Clemont battles against Shauna using his Bunnelby, which proves to be too much for Shauna's Swirlix. Clemont's strategic abilities and team coordination help him win the match, earning him enough points to move onto the next round.
Finally, it's Ash's turn. Remo puts up a fierce battle with his powerful Garchomp, making it hard for Pikachu to land any attacks. However, Ash and Pikachu manage to pull off a daring strategy which ultimately earns them a victory in the match.
The episode ends with the contestants being tallied up, and the results are announced. Serena, Nini, Clemont, and Ash all move onto the next round, with Shauna being eliminated. The stage is set for the next round of the Master Class competition, and the excitement is only just beginning.
