Ep 2. When Light and Dark Collide!

When Light and Dark Collide!, the second episode of the eighteenth season of the Pokemon animated series, takes us to Route 1, where Ash and his beloved Pikachu are on a journey towards Ash's goal of winning the Kalos League championship. Along the way, they come across a mysterious creature and decide to follow it.

The creature leads them to a beautiful mansion, where they meet its owner, a woman named Olympia, who also happens to be the Gym Leader of Anistar City. Olympia shows them around the mansion and introduces them to her Pokemon - an Espurr, a Meowstic, and a Sigilyph. Olympia is a psychic and uses her psychic abilities to communicate with her Pokemon, a talent she affectionately describes as "a special friendship between humans and Pokemon."

Meanwhile, Team Rocket is on a mission to catch Pikachu, as usual. They are lurking around the mansion, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce. They make their move, but their attempt ends in failure, as they are quickly discovered by Ash and Olympia.

As the night settles in, Olympia takes Ash and his friends to an observatory to witness a rare astronomical event, a visualization of the collision of two galaxies. They are amazed by the spectacular show, as they witness the grandeur of the universe before their very eyes. Olympia explains to them that the event is a representation of the duality of the universe, the balance between light and dark, good and evil, yin and yang.

However, the peace of the night is interrupted by an unexpected attack by a group of Pokemon poachers led by a man named Briggs. They are attempting to capture a rare and powerful Pokemon, a Goomy who is living in the area. Ash and his friends decide to help the Goomy, but things quickly turn dangerous, as the poachers are more prepared than they anticipated.

The poachers head towards an abandoned building, where the Goomy is hiding. Ash and his friends, along with Olympia and her Pokemon, follow them. Inside the building, they find a group of trainers who have been brainwashed by Briggs' partner, a powerful Malamar who can control the minds of other Pokemon.

Ash and his friends face off against the trainers, who are under Malamar's control. Olympia reveals that her psychic abilities allow her to resist Malamar's mind control, and she helps free the other trainers from Malamar's manipulations. Meanwhile, Pikachu has a fierce battle with the Malamar, but ultimately Pikachu's determination and bravery lead them to victory.

The episode ends with the poachers being arrested and the Goomy being safe. Ash and his friends thank Olympia for her help and continue their journey towards winning the Kalos League. As they depart, Olympia wishes them luck and mentions that their meeting was no coincidence, that they were brought together by fate, as their destinies are intertwined.
