Ep 29. Cottonee in Love!

Ash, Iris, and Cilan are on their way to Castelia City when they come across a Cottonee. It seems to be lost, so they decide to help it get back to its home in the forest. Along the way, Cottonee reveals that it is in love with a Whimsicott that lives in the forest. However, there is a problem: the Whimsicott has already been promised to a wealthy trainer.

As they journey through the forest, they come across the wealthy trainer, who challenges them to a battle. They accept, hoping that they can win and convince the trainer to let Cottonee and Whimsicott be together. During the battle, Cottonee is injured and the trainer calls off the match, realizing that he was in the wrong for trying to keep the two Pokémon apart.

The group finally reaches Whimsicott's location, but it appears to be avoiding them. After some investigation, they find out that Whimsicott has been avoiding Cottonee because it is ashamed of its appearance. Cottonee decides to sacrifice their love in order to make Whimsicott happy, but the group convinces it that it should not have to change for someone else.

As they are discussing the situation, Team Rocket appears and attempts to steal both Cottonee and Whimsicott. Ash and the gang battle Team Rocket, but during the fight, Whimsicott falls ill. They rush to a nearby Pokémon Center, where they learn that Whimsicott's illness is due to the pollution caused by a nearby factory.

The group decides to take action and, with the help of the local Pokémon, they shut down the factory. Whimsicott is cured and, in the end, the two Pokémon are able to be together. Ash, Iris, and Cilan continue on their journey, knowing that they made a difference in the lives of two Pokémon.
