They come up with a plan to create a fake tree that looks valuable but is actually worthless. They then replace one of the stolen trees with this fake tree, hoping to catch the thieves in the act.

Their plan works perfectly, and they catch the thieves red-handed. The thieves try to escape but are caught by the authorities and the real Professor Oak is freed. Ash and his friends are hailed as heroes and they continue on their journey, ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.
