Ep 7. On Olden Pond!

Ash, May, Max, and Brock arrive at a peaceful, sylvan location, in the hopes of getting a good look at some beautiful Water-type Pokémon. They immediately find themselves in a challenging situation, as they access a pond that isn't as safe as it once was. There are noticeable changes to the water ecosystem that are, at first, difficult to identify. It seems as though the water's all but dried up. Upon closer inspection, they find that the changes are due to the bountiful plant growth that has taken over the pond, resulting in a shortage of water.

The Pokémon team immediately notice the distress of the few, remaining water Pokémon, and they vow to aid them in any way they can. They quickly find out that the real enemy is not the plants, but the nearby industrial complex that is using up all of the water in the area. They approach the owners of the factory, but to no avail - they will not relinquish the water.

Determined to find a solution, the group receives some help in the form of a local old-timer who has lived in harmony with the land for years. The old man has a plan that involves working with the plants, rather than attempting to eradicate them. It's an ambitious plan, and the team are skeptical as to its feasibility. However, after initial successes convince them that it might just work, they swing into action and take up the challenge.

After many hours of back-breaking labour, progress is made, and the old man's unique approach is vindicated. New shoots spring up from barren soil, breathing new life into the area. Eventually, the water level is restored, revitalizing the pond and breathing new life into it. The Water-types who had been struggling so hard can once again now swim freely and happily.
