When Ash and his friends arrive at a new town, they quickly learn that it's home to a prestigious Pokémon academy. Eager to learn more about the facility, they pay a visit, only to discover that they're not exactly welcome. The school's principal, Mr. Moore, takes one look at Ash's Pikachu and dismisses the visitors as amateurs who don't belong in such a prestigious institution.
Despite the chilly reception, Ash and his friends are determined to check out the place and learn what they can. They soon meet up with a group of students who are eager to show off their skills, but things take a turn for the worse when one of the students accidentally releases a swarm of Beedrill into the academy's classrooms. In the chaos that follows, Ash and the gang are blamed for the mess and are promptly kicked out.
