Ep 64. Gotta Catch Ya Later!

Ash has finally reached the "Ever Grande City" where he is scheduled to have his gym battle against the Gym Leader, Juan, in order to prove his worth to battle in the Hoenn League. Meanwhile, the rest of his friends, Brock, May, and Max will be returning to their respective hometowns, and thus, parting from Ash. They all meet up and share some fun moments together, while Ash tries to hide his sadness of parting from his friends.

As everyone parts ways, it is a flashback to all the fun times that they have shared together. They all remember their adventures, while also sharing the memories they will cherish forever. They take one last group photo and say their goodbyes. Ash then heads to the gym. He is excited to win and move further in the League.

At the gym, Ash has a tough battle against Juan. Juan's Water-type Pokémon are powerful and tough to beat. Ash and Pikachu try their level best but they still lose. Ash is sad and disappointed. However, he has to leave and move on with his journey.

Ash then decides to take a break from Pokemon training and decides to visit his mother in Pallet Town. However, when he reaches his hometown, he is in for a big surprise—Gary is already there waiting for him. Gary shows off all his new Pokemon to Ash while they reminisce about the good old days. They then go to Professor Oak's lab and have a battle.

Though Ash loses, he is still happy to have his friend back. Gary tells Ash about his new journey with Pokemon research. They even discuss how Ash's journey and achievements have helped other aspiring trainers to train better and become stronger. Ash feels proud to have helped his friends and many others along the way.

As the end credits roll, we see each of Ash's friends bidding farewell one by one. They thank Ash for the wonderful experiences and memories. Ash finally takes the next train and bids goodbye to his hometown, with a flashback of all the interesting people he met on his journey.
