Ep 17. Espeon, Not Included

Ash and his friends continue their journey through the Johto region and end up in a small village where a Pokémon breeding center is located, called the Pokémon Day Care. While exploring the Day Care, they meet a young girl named Mikey who is upset as her Eevee has not yet evolved. To cheer her up, Ash and his friends offer to help her out.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket is spying on them and they are also after the Eevee. James believes that if they can capture Eevee, they can force it to evolve into an Espeon, which is a Psychic type Pokémon and can be very useful in their evil schemes.

Ash and his friends, however, have their own plans for Eevee. They want to help it evolve into Umbreon, a Dark type Pokémon. They soon realize that in order to evolve Eevee into Umbreon, they need to expose it to moonlight, which is not possible during the day. With the help of Mikey, they come up with a plan to keep Eevee out all night so that it can evolve.

As they wait for Eevee to evolve, they encounter Team Rocket who are attempting to capture the Eevee. Ash and his friends battle it out with Team Rocket to protect Eevee. Just as they are about to lose, Eevee evolves into Umbreon and uses its new powers to battle against Team Rocket.
