Ash and his friends continue their journey to the Hoenn region and encounter a man named Tate who claims to be a Pokémon trainer. Even worse, the device seems to be malfunctioning, causing the Pokémon to lash out uncontrollably.
As Ash tries to figure out what is going on, he learns that Tate is actually a scientist working for Team Rocket. With the device destroyed, Ash and his friends are able to rescue Tate and put a stop to Team Rocket's plans. As they continue on their journey, they part ways with Tate and his daughter, grateful for their help and friendship.
