Pokemon the Series Season 4 Episode 37

Ep 37. The Ring Masters

  • April 19, 2001

Ash and his friends arrive at a town where a Pokémon circus is being held, and Misty is excited to attend. Once they arrive, they are immediately met with a group of trainers who are part of the circus. These trainers are all competing for the title of "Ring Master," which is the highest honor given to a Pokémon trainer in the circus.

The main event is a tournament-style battle, where the trainers must compete against one another using their Pokémon. The winner of each round moves onto the next until only one remains, and that trainer is crowned Ring Master.

Ash and his friends decide to check out the competition and meet some of the trainers. They are introduced to a trainer named Dario, who is very confident in his abilities and claims to be the strongest trainer in the competition. Misty is immediately intrigued and wants to see him battle.

During the tournament, Ash and his friends witness some impressive battles and meet several other trainers, including a couple who use an impressive synchronized battling style. However, Dario dominates the competition, easily defeating his opponents in every round.

As the tournament progresses, it becomes clear that Dario is not only a talented trainer but a very arrogant one as well. He constantly talks down to his opponents and seems to have no respect for anyone else's abilities.

The final battle comes down to Dario and another trainer named Savannah. It is a fierce battle, with both trainers giving it their all. In the end, Savannah is declared the winner, and she is crowned Ring Master.

Despite losing, Dario still doesn't seem to accept defeat. He argues with the judges, claiming that Savannah cheated and demanding a rematch. However, the judges refuse, stating that Savannah is the rightful winner.

Ash and his friends are disappointed in Dario's behavior, and Misty wonders why he wanted to win the Ring Master title so badly if he didn't even respect the competition or the other trainers.

As they prepare to leave the town, Ash and his friends overhear Dario practicing alone. He reveals that he had hoped to win the Ring Master title so he could impress his father, who is also a trainer in the circus. Dario always felt like he was living in his father's shadow and wanted to prove that he was the better trainer.

Ash and his friends feel sympathetic towards Dario and try to offer some words of encouragement. They tell him that winning isn't everything and that he should be proud of his ability as a trainer and continue to work hard to surpass his father.

In the end, Dario seems to take their words to heart and thanks them for their advice. Ash and his friends bid farewell to the circus trainers and continue on their journey.
