Ash, Misty, and Brock have arrived in the town of Intercity, and they're ready to take on the next gym challenge. However, when they arrive at the Pokémon Gym, they find that it's been closed down. The Gym Leader, a man named Luana, has gone missing, and nobody knows where she's gone.
As always, Ash is determined to find Luana and challenge her to a battle. However, while they're searching for clues, they stumble upon a strange Pokémon called a Dunsparce. This Pokémon is known for its ability to dig through the ground, and it seems to be leading the group in a particular direction.
Following the Dunsparce, the group soon finds themselves in a forest. The Dunsparce leads them to a small clearing, where they come across a man named Poncho. Poncho is a Pokémon breeder, and it seems that he's been having trouble with a group of Dunsparce who have been stealing his Pokémon food.
Poncho asks Ash and his friends for their help in catching the Dunsparce, but things soon take a turn for the worse. The group soon discovers that the Dunsparce weren't stealing the food at all, and that Poncho was actually using the Dunsparce for his own selfish gain.
With the help of the real Luana, who had been keeping tabs on Poncho from a distance, Ash and his friends soon put a stop to Poncho's plan. They manage to free the Dunsparce from their captivity, and together they help return the stolen food to its rightful owners.
In the end, Ash and his friends are left to continue their journey, once again driven by their desire to become the very best that they can be. Now more determined than ever before, they set out to take on the next challenge that awaits them on their journey.
