Ash, Misty, and Brock are traveling through Johto towards their next gym challenge when they stumble upon a group of Ariados. The spider-like Pokemon seem friendly enough, but the trio soon discovers that they are being controlled by a sinister Trainer named Koji. Koji is using mind control devices to force the Ariados to steal valuable items from nearby towns.
