Ep 27. Going Apricorn

Ash, Misty, and Brock head towards Azalea City. As they travel through a forest, they spot some Apricorns hanging from a tree. Brock tells them that Apricorns are berries that can be used to make Pokeballs. He also mentions that Azalea City is known for its Apricorn trees. As they continue their journey, they come across a trainer named Kurt who is highly skilled in making Pokeballs. Kurt tells Ash that he will make him a special Pokeball if he can procure an Apricorn for him. Ash agrees and sets out with Pikachu and Totodile to find an Apricorn tree. While searching for an Apricorn tree, Pikachu and Totodile stumble upon a wild Pineco. They battle it and manage to capture it. Later, they finally find an Apricorn tree and gather some Apricorns. However, they are ambushed by Team Rocket who steal their Apricorns. Kurt sees them being chased by Team Rocket and goes to help them. He discovers that Team Rocket has a machine that can extract the essence from the Apricorns and turn them into a powerful energy source. Kurt, Ash, and the gang team up to stop them. Using his knowledge of Apricorns, Kurt is able to make special Pokeballs to capture Team Rocket's Pokemon. Along the way, Pikachu and Totodile evolve into Raichu and Croconaw, respectively. In the end, Ash shows Kurt his newfound respect for making Pokeballs. Kurt decides to give Ash and his friends a special commemorative Pokeball to mark their journey together.
