Ep 13. Ignorance Is Blissey

Ash and his friends reach a new town during their journey in the Johto region, and they're in for a treat with the local Pokemon Center. The Nurse Joy here has a Chansey as her assistant, and it's unlike any other Chansey they've seen before. This one is clumsy and makes a lot of mistakes, much to the frustration of Nurse Joy and everyone else.

When they ask about it, Nurse Joy explains that this Chansey used to be a Blissey until recently, but it was reverted back to its original form due to an accident. Blissey is known for its perfection in nursing and caregiving, and Nurse Joy is disappointed in this Chansey's inability to meet that standard. Ash and his friends offer to help out with the daily tasks around the Pokemon Center, hoping to improve the Chansey's skills.

During their time there, they learn that the Chansey has a talent for making delicious food. However, every time it tries to do something good, it messes up something else. For example, it breaks all the plates while preparing a meal, or it accidentally squirts ketchup all over the walls when trying to put it on a sandwich. As a result, Nurse Joy becomes even more frustrated and decides to send the Chansey away.

Ash and his friends are sad to see the Chansey go and are determined to help it prove its worth. They track it down to an abandoned house, where they find the Chansey alone and crying. They comfort it and try to brainstorm ways to boost its confidence. Ash suggests that they train the Chansey in battles, hoping to awaken its natural instincts and abilities.

The group puts together a mock battle, with Ash acting as the opponent. The Chansey tries its best but fails miserably, much to its embarrassment. However, the group doesn't give up and continues to encourage and train the Chansey. Slowly but surely, it improves and gains new skills and strategies.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket is up to their usual mischief and decides to target the Pokemon Center, hoping to steal all of the Pokemon inside. They create a fake illness and convince Nurse Joy that only their Blissey can cure it. Nurse Joy agrees, and they start wreaking havoc inside the Pokemon Center.

Ash and his friends arrive just in time to intervene. They battle Team Rocket and are able to defeat them, but not without help from the Chansey. The Chansey uses its newfound skills to not only battle but also to nurse and heal the other Pokemon that were affected by the fake illness. It proves itself to be both strong and caring, and Nurse Joy sees this and finally recognizes its value.

In the end, Nurse Joy decides to keep the Chansey as her assistant, and the group of friends continues on their journey with a new companion. They leave the town with a sense of accomplishment, knowing that they helped a Pokemon find its true potential.
