Ep 39. Reunion Battles In Nimbasa!
- October 29, 2011
Ash and his friends are back in Nimbasa City for the Club Battle Tournament. The competition is fierce, and everyone is geared up for some intense reunion battles. Iris is up against Georgia, and it looks like their rivalry is continuing. Meanwhile, Cilan is up against his old friend Burgundy. Ash is set to battle against Trip, whom he met during the Unova League.
As the tournament begins, Iris and Georgia start their battle. Iris is excited to face Georgia again, but things quickly go south. Georgia's Beartic is powerful and hard to beat. But Iris refuses to back down, and with the help of her Excadrill, she manages to turn the battle around. In the end, Iris emerges victorious, much to Georgia's frustration.
Meanwhile, Cilan is having his own reunion battle with Burgundy. The two used to be friends, but a disagreement over their food review techniques caused a rift between them. Now, they are facing each other in battle. Cilan's Pansage is up against Burgundy's Dewott, and the two are evenly matched. But when Pansage evolves into his final form, Simisage, Cilan gains the upper hand and wins the battle. After the match, Burgundy is impressed by Cilan's growth and the two reconcile their friendship.
Finally, it's time for Ash's reunion battle with Trip. The two have a fierce rivalry, and they are both determined to win. Ash starts things off with his Palpitoad while Trip sends out his Vanillite. The two Pokemon are evenly matched, but Palpitoad manages to land a critical hit, giving Ash the advantage. Trip follows up with his Serperior, and the battle becomes intense. Ash recalls Palpitoad and sends out his Pikachu, who manages to land a powerful electric attack. But just when it seems like Ash is about to win, Trip pulls out his secret weapon – Conkeldurr.
Conkeldurr is a powerful fighting-type Pokemon, and Ash is caught off guard. Pikachu takes a beating before being knocked out. In a last-ditch effort, Ash sends out his Unfezant, hoping to turn the tide. It's a hard-fought battle, but in the end, it's Trip's Conkeldurr that emerges victorious.
Despite the loss, Ash isn't discouraged. He knows the reunion battles were just the beginning and that he'll have plenty of chances to improve. The Club Battle Tournament continues, and he's ready for whatever challenges come his way.
