In this episode of Pokemon the Series: Diamond and Pearl, titled "Dealing With Defensive Types!", Ash, Dawn, and Brock continue on their journey through Sinnoh and come across a new challenge. They encounter a group of trainers who specialize in defensive Pokemon. These trainers have prepared themselves to withstand even the toughest attacks with their sturdy and hardy Pokemon.

Ash is excited to take on this new challenge and see what he and his team of Pokemon are made of. He decides to battle the first trainer he sees, who sends out a Shuckle. Shuckle is known for its incredibly high defense stats, so Ash has his work cut out for him. Ash decides to start off with Pikachu and instructs him to use Thunderbolt. However, the move barely makes a dent in Shuckle's defense.

Dawn and Brock watch from the sidelines, taking notes on how to tackle the other trainers' defensive Pokemon. The next trainer has a Skarmory, a steel-type bird that is also known for its impressive defense. Brock suggests that Dawn use her Piplup's Bubble Beam attack to try and chip away at Skarmory's defenses. Piplup's attack does a little more damage than Pikachu's Thunderbolt did, but Skarmory still remains unfazed.

Ash is still struggling to find a weakness in Shuckle's defense, so he decides to switch out Pikachu for his Torterra. Torterra is a grass and ground-type Pokemon, which has access to move Earthquake. Earthquake is super effective against Shuckle due to its rock and ground typing, and finally causes some damage to the defensive Pokemon.

The third trainer has a Cradily, a grass and rock-type Pokemon with extremely high defense stats. They're known for being able to shrug off even the toughest hits. This time, Dawn decides to take the lead and sends out her Pachirisu. Pachirisu is an electric-type Pokemon with access to the move Discharge, which will hit Cradily hard due to its water typing. The move proves to be very effective, and Cradily is stunned by the electric attack.

The final trainer has a Bastiodon, a steel and rock-type Pokemon with incredibly high defense and special defense stats. It has access to Iron Defense, a move that raises its defense even further. Ash decides to send out his Infernape and uses its powerful move, Flare Blitz. Despite Bastiodon's high defense, Flare Blitz proves too much for it to handle, and Ash secures his victory.

Throughout the episode, Ash, Dawn, and Brock learn the importance of strategy and type match-ups when facing opponents with high defense stats. They also learn the importance of not giving up, even when it seems like their attacks aren't working. With each battle, they develop new tactics and learn how to handle different defensive types.

Overall, "Dealing With Defensive Types!" is an exciting and informative episode of Pokemon the Series: Diamond and Pearl. It showcases the importance of strategy and type match-ups in battle, while also introducing viewers to some of the toughest defensive Pokemon out there.
