Ash, Dawn, and Brock are traveling to Jubilife City to compete in the upcoming Pokemon Contest. Along the way, they come across a train station and decide to take a ride on the train. While on board, they meet a group of railway workers who are trying to fix a broken track switch that is causing delays and disruptions to the train schedule.

A curious Ash offers to help them, and they accept his offer. Together, they work to throw the switch and get the train back on track.
