Plunderer is an anime TV series from Tokyo MX released in 2020. It is an adaptation of the manga series created by Suu Minazuki. The show is directed by Hiroyuki Kanbe and written by Masashi Suzuki. The anime series stars Yoshiki Nakajima, Rina Honizumi, and Eric Vale, among others.

The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the human population has been reduced to a minimum after a devastating disaster known as the Great War. The remnants of humanity live in a place known as Alcia, where life is governed by a set of strict rules. The most important of these rules pertains to the idea of 'counting' or 'points.' Every person in Alcia has a count, which determines their worth and place in society. The counts are assigned based on the accomplishments, achievements, and crimes a person commits.

The story begins with a young girl named Hina, who lives in the countryside with her mother. Hina's mother, who is a skilled fighter, tells her stories about a legendary warrior known as the 'Abyss.' According to the legends, the Abyss has the power to lower a person's count to zero, sending them to eternal damnation. Hina's mother entrusts her with a mission to find the Abyss and bring him back to help people reset their counts.

Hina embarks on her journey, and along the way, she meets a young man named Licht Bach. Licht is a carefree and charismatic person who seems to have no interest in the rules of society. He rescues Hina from a group of robbers, and they both become travelers. Hina is looking for the Abyss, while Licht is searching for something known as the 'Ballot.' The Ballot is a mysterious object with immense power that can change the course of history.

As the story progresses, Hina and Licht encounter several other characters, each with their own unique set of skills and motivations. Among them are Jail Murdoch, the leader of the police force and a former soldier who lost his family in the Great War. He has a score to settle with Licht and will stop at nothing to capture him, even if it means putting Hina's life in danger.

Another character is Lynn, a young girl who has the power to heal people's wounds. She is a pacifist and opposes the use of violence in any form. She teams up with Hina and the others, hoping to find a way to change society peacefully.

Plunderer combines elements of action, fantasy, and romance to create an engaging storyline. The show explores several themes, including the consequences of blindly following rules, the importance of individual worth, and the struggle to create a better world. The characters are well-developed and relatable, each with their own backstory and motivations.

The animation and visual effects in Plunderer are top-notch, with vibrant colors and fluid movements that capture the essence of the story. The soundtrack is also impressive, with a mix of orchestral and electronic music that complements the action-packed scenes.

Overall, Plunderer is a must-watch for anime fans who enjoy stories with well-developed characters, captivating plot twists, and thrilling action sequences. The show has something for everyone, from romantic subplots to intense fight scenes, and leaves the viewers wanting more.
