Ep 8. Follow the Leader

  • August 20, 2018

Playtime with Puppy Dog Pals is a delightful animated series for preschoolers that follows fun-loving pug brothers, Bingo and Rolly. The two brothers are always ready for an adventure - big or small. They use their imaginations and creativity to come up with fun solutions to problems as they explore their fun-filled world. In this season 1 episode 8 "Follow the Leader," the two brothers embark on a new adventure as they search for the ultimate secret handshake.

In the first scene of the episode, Bingo and Rolly are sitting in their cozy doghouse discussing the possibility of creating a secret handshake. The idea of creating a special handshake sparks joy and excitement in their little pug hearts. They get up and start brainstorming different handshakes, from high-fives to fist bumps, but none of them seemed impressive enough. It is then that they decide that the ultimate secret handshake should involve a special dance routine. They break into a dance that is both goofy and adorable, and it leaves the audience laughing.

In the next scene, Bingo and Rolly start their search for a perfect leader who can teach them the ultimate secret handshake. They meet different animals on their search, including a parrot and a monkey who both impress the brothers with their dance moves, but neither is capable of providing the perfect handshake. That's when they come across a strange sparrow who claims to be the best dancer and leader in the area. Excitedly, Bingo and Rolly ask the sparrow to teach them a secret handshake, and impressed by his confidence, they agree to be his followers.

The sparrow begins to teach the brothers the secret handshake, which he calls the "Fly-DMC." It involves a series of complicated footwork, high jumps, and hand claps that leave the brothers tired but excited. As they practice, the sparrow reminds them that to perform the handshake successfully, they must follow every move he makes. Bingo and Rolly, being little pug brothers, try to add their own flair to the handshake, which leads to hilarious results. The audience is left in stitches as they watch the two brothers flail their arms and legs around.

The next scene takes place in a parade where the brothers hope to show off their newly learned secret handshake. As the parade starts, the brothers get their chance. With the sparrow leading the way, they begin to perform the Fly-DMC handshake, but soon enough, the brothers realize that they might have taken the 'follow the leader' rule a bit too literally. They begin to mimic every move the sparrow makes, including flying away from the parade. Frustrated by the little pugs' inability to differentiate between leader and follower, the sparrow decides to end the lesson and go away, leaving Bingo and Rolly alone in the middle of the city.

Feeling lost and stranded, Bingo and Rolly remember something that their owner, Bob, once told them - "Never give up. Work together, and you will find a solution." They gather their determination and creativity and remember the dance moves they learned from the sparrow. They start to dance their own interpretation of the Fly-DMC handshake, incorporating their own goofy moves and flairs. The audience couldn't have enough of the adorable pug brothers as they move their bodies to the beat of the music.

In the end, the brothers realize that the ultimate secret handshake is the one that they create themselves. The episode ends on a happy note, as Bingo and Rolly realize that with imagination and teamwork, anything is possible. Follow the Leader is a heartwarming and fun episode that teaches children the importance of creativity, determination, and teamwork in achieving goals. It's a great show for parents to watch with their preschoolers, and the adorable pug brothers are sure to bring a smile to everyone's faces.
