Phil of the Future season 1 episode 20 - Raging Bull
In this episode, Phil has to save his sister Pim from her crush’s older brother, a bully named Wayne. Phil’s family and the bully’s family are having dinner at the Diffys’ house when Wayne starts picking on Pim. Phil tries to stand up for her, but Wayne beats him up.
Feeling helpless, Phil turns to his friend Keely for advice. She tells him about a self-help guru named Thelma Gibbons who hosts a “Raging Bull” seminar that teaches people how to confront their fears and overcome their obstacles. Phil decides to attend the seminar and get some tips on how to stand up to Wayne.
At the seminar, Phil meets a girl named Tia who is also there to confront her fear of dogs. They hit it off and Phil convinces her to help him with his bully problem. Together, they develop a plan to get Wayne to back off from Pim.
Meanwhile, Phil’s little brother, Pheely, is obsessed with a comic book superhero named Captain Super-Soaker and decides to become a vigilante himself. He dons a cape and mask and starts patrolling the streets, looking for evildoers to defeat.
Back at the Diffys’ house, Wayne continues to torment Pim, but Phil and Tia come up with a clever prank to humiliate him in front of his family. They make a fake video of Wayne doing embarrassing things and broadcast it on the TV during dinner.
The plan works and Wayne is so embarrassed that he vows to leave Pim alone. Phil feels victorious and proud of himself for standing up to the bully, but soon realizes that he has created a new problem. Pheely, inspired by Phil’s heroism, has become an even more enthusiastic vigilante and is now causing more harm than good. Phil must find a way to convince his little brother to stop before he causes any real damage.
In the end, Phil learns that standing up to bullies is important, but it’s also important to choose the right way to do it and not let your actions create new problems. The episode ends with a heartwarming moment between Phil and his little brother as they realize that they are both heroes in their own way.
