Peter Gunn season 1 episode 22, titled "Eddie Finds a Corpse," follows private investigator Peter Gunn as he is hired by a nightclub owner, Eddie, to investigate the disappearance of one of his waitresses, Sally. When Sally fails to show up for work, Eddie becomes worried and decides to hire Gunn to find her.

Gunn begins his investigation by questioning Sally's roommate, but he doesn't get much information. He then talks to Sally's boyfriend, who tells him that Sally had been acting strange lately and had been spending all of her free time with a man named Maxie. Gunn decides to pay Maxie a visit, but he is uncooperative and denies knowing anything about Sally's disappearance.

As Gunn continues to investigate, he discovers that Maxie is involved in a blackmail scheme. Maxie and his partner, a woman named Fay, have been blackmailing Eddie for money, threatening to expose his shady business dealings if he doesn't pay up. When Sally found out about the scheme, Maxie and Fay decided to silence her permanently.

Gunn races against time to find Sally's body before Maxie and Fay can dispose of it. He discovers that they have hidden the body in the trunk of a car, which is set to be crushed at a junkyard. Gunn rushes to the junkyard just in time and is able to retrieve Sally's body before it is destroyed.

With the case solved, Gunn confronts Maxie and Fay and is able to extract a confession from them. He presents the evidence to Eddie, who is relieved to know the truth about Sally's disappearance. The episode ends with Gunn sitting alone in his office, contemplating the tragedy that had occurred.

Overall, Peter Gunn season 1 episode 22 is a gripping and intense episode that showcases Gunn's investigative skills. The plot is well-crafted, with several twists and turns that keep viewers engaged until the very end. The performances of the actors are strong, particularly Craig Stevens as Peter Gunn, who exudes a cool, confident demeanor throughout the episode. Fans of classic noir and detective shows will definitely enjoy this episode.
