Dr. Daniel Pierce, an eccentric neuroscience professor with a unique perspective on the world, returns in the second season of Perception. In episode 6, titled Defective, Pierce finds himself facing one of his toughest opponents yet when a case involving a young student who may be involved in a hacking scandal threatens to unravel everything he has worked for.
The episode opens with Pierce receiving a call from the dean of his university asking for his help with a student who has been accused of hacking into the school's computer systems. The student, Aidan, denies any involvement in the hacking, but the evidence seems to point towards him. As the evidence mounts against him, Aidan begins to unravel, leading Pierce to make a shocking discovery about the young man's true identity.
