In the first part of this episode, "The Parade Problem," Peg and Cat are excited to join a parade in their town. However, they soon realize that they don't have any instruments to play in the parade. Determined to participate, they explore their options and end up making their own instruments out of household items. Along the way, they also help various people in their neighborhood, including a baker who needs help measuring ingredients and a group of dancers who need counting assistance. With their homemade instruments, Peg and Cat join the parade and have a blast while showing off their creativity and problem-solving skills.
In the second part of the episode, "The Halloween Problem," Peg and Cat are getting ready for Halloween. However, when they go to a pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin, they realize that all of the pumpkins have disappeared! They soon discover that the local witch has taken them all to make a giant pumpkin pie. Peg and Cat come up with a plan to get the pumpkins back and, with the help of some new friends, they successfully thwart the witch's plan and return the pumpkins to the patch. Along the way, they encounter some spooky scenarios and rely on their math skills to figure out solutions.

Peg and Cat use their skills to make the best out of a difficult situation and have fun while doing it.
