Peep and the Big Wide World is a children's educational television series created by Kaj Pindal and developed by The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Each episode follows the adventures of three friends – a small yellow chicken named Peep, a curious robin named Chirp, and a clever duck named Quack – as they explore the exciting and puzzling world around them.
In this episode, titled "You Can Count on Bunnies/Falling Feathers", the trio encounters some tricky math concepts and learns some valuable lessons along the way. The first half of the episode, "You Can Count on Bunnies", finds Peep, Chirp, and Quack competing to collect the most carrots from a garden. However, their plans are disrupted by a group of mischievous rabbits who keep stealing their carrots and running away. To solve this problem, the gang decides to use their math skills, counting and strategizing to outsmart the bunnies and earn their carrots back.
In the second half of the episode, "Falling Feathers", Peep, Chirp, and Quack encounter a flock of migrating birds, who drop some feathers as they fly overhead. Fascinated by the feathers, the trio attempts to build a flying machine of their own, using the feathers as wings. However, they quickly discover that even with feathers, flying is not so easy – and they must work together to come up with a new plan.
Throughout the episode, Peep, Chirp, and Quack demonstrate the value of problem-solving, teamwork, and perseverance. By using their math skills to plan and strategize, they are able to solve the carrot-stealing mystery and come up with a new way to fly. And through their adventures, they encourage young viewers to embrace curiosity, creativity, and learning as they explore the big wide world around them.
