Paula's Home Cooking season 7 episode 6 is titled "Deen Family Cook Off." In this episode, Paula Deen is joined by her family members as they compete in a friendly cook off. The Deen family members include Paula's husband, Michael, her sons, Jamie and Bobby, and her grandchildren, Jack and Matthew.
The episode begins with Paula introducing the idea of a family cook off to her family members who are all excited to participate. The cook off will have three rounds, and the winner will be determined by the judges who are none other than Paula's friends and family.
The first round of the cook off is a breakfast round, where each family member has to make their version of a breakfast dish. Jamie starts with a breakfast casserole, while Bobby makes a smoked salmon quiche. Michael decides to make bacon and eggs, while the grandkids opt for french toast and pancakes. Paula also makes a breakfast dish, but she keeps her dish a secret from the family members.
The judges are impressed with all the dishes and have a tough time deciding the winner. However, they eventually give the winning title to Bobby for his smoked salmon quiche.
The second round of the cook off is a lunch round, where the family members have to make their version of a lunch dish. This time, Bobby opts for a shrimp po' boy sandwich, Jamie makes a grilled chicken salad, while Michael decides to make a classic cheeseburger. Paula decides to make a fried chicken sandwich for this round.
The family members are more competitive in this round, and everyone tries their best to impress the judges. The grandkids decide to make their own version of PB&J, with a twist, while Paula gives her sandwich a unique twist with some hot sauce.
The judges have a difficult time deciding the winner of this round, but they ultimately give the winning title to Michael for his delicious cheeseburger.
The final round of the cook off is a dinner round, where the family members have to make their version of a classic dinner dish. Jamie decides to make spaghetti and meatballs, Bobby makes a grilled salmon dish, while Michael decides to make a beef stroganoff.
The grandkids also participate in this round, and they make their own version of mac and cheese, while Paula opts for a classic chicken pot pie.
The judges are impressed with all the dishes, but they ultimately give the winning title to Bobby for his grilled salmon dish.
The episode ends with the family members enjoying their dishes together and reflecting on the day's events. The cook off not only brought out their competitive sides but also brought the family closer together.
