Paul is moved by their bond and spends time playing with them, learning more about their unique situation, and hoping to help them find a home together.
Throughout the episode, Paul also spends time with some of the staff at Battersea, learning more about their work and the challenges they face. He meets with a vet who is helping to care for a dog who has been badly injured and may not survive, as well as a trainer who is working with a dog who has severe anxiety issues. Paul is inspired by the dedication of the staff and is eager to help in any way he can.
As the episode comes to a close, Paul spends time with some of the dogs who have found forever homes and are getting ready to leave Battersea. He visits with a couple who have just adopted a beautiful German Shepherd named Chance, and with a family who have taken in a lively Springer Spaniel named Barney. Paul is thrilled to see the joy these dogs have brought to their new families and is reminded of why he loves his work at Battersea so much.
