Ep 22. Herrod vs. Walther

In the Paternity Court season 6 episode 22 titled "Herrod vs. Walther," Judge Lauren Lake presides over a case in which a man named Brandon Herrod believes that he is the father of a baby girl named Kiyah. Meanwhile, the baby's mother, Larrissa Walther, is unsure of who the biological father is.

The episode begins with Brandon explaining to Judge Lake that he met Larrissa on a dating app and they had a brief relationship. During that time, Larrissa became pregnant, and Brandon assumed that he was the father since he was the only man she had been intimate with. However, Larrissa is now claiming that another man could also be the father.

As the proceedings get underway, Judge Lake notes that Brandon has already been somewhat involved in Kiyah's life by providing financial assistance for her care. However, he is seeking official recognition as her father, which would give him legal rights and responsibilities.

The first witness called to the stand is Larrissa's friend Tammy, who testifies that Larrissa was unsure of who the father was and that she had been involved with another man at the same time as Brandon. Tammy also suggests that Larrissa may have been trying to keep Brandon around by telling him that he was the father of Kiyah.

Next, Brandon's mother, Karen, takes the stand and talks about how excited she was to learn that Brandon was going to be a father. She also admits that she has been providing some financial support for Kiyah in order to help out her son.

Larrissa takes the stand herself and explains that she was unsure of who the father was because she was seeing two men at the same time and she didn't want to hurt either of them. She claims that she ended things with the other man before Kiyah was born, but Brandon still has his doubts.

In an attempt to get more information, Judge Lake orders DNA tests for both Brandon and the other man who could be Kiyah's father. Larrissa agrees to the tests, but the other man declines to participate.

The episode then takes a turn as a surprise witness is called to the stand - Larrissa's mother. She tells Judge Lake that Larrissa may have been trying to keep Brandon around by telling him that he was the father. She also suggests that the other man who could be Kiyah's father is not a good person and that Brandon would be a better father.

The DNA test results finally arrive, and it is revealed that Brandon is indeed Kiyah's father. He is overjoyed, but also emotional as he talks about how he has been wanting to officially be a part of his daughter's life.

In the end, Judge Lake grants Brandon's request for legal recognition as Kiyah's father and orders him to pay child support. Larrissa also agrees to allow Brandon to be a bigger part of their daughter's life, and the episode ends on a hopeful note as the family leaves the courtroom.
