The Partridge Family is a American sitcom that aired from 1970-1974. The show follows the musical Partridge family consisting of a widowed mother, Shirley, and her five children, Keith, Laurie, Danny, Tracy, and Chris, as they tour the country in their multi-colored painted school bus.
In season 2, episode 14, titled "Where Do Mermaids Go?", the Partridge family find themselves stranded on an island after their plane crashes. The island is inhabited by a reclusive artist named Harry Dantley who has given up his art and lives alone, away from civilization. Shirley and the kids meet Harry and they soon discover that he is working on a large statue of a mermaid on the island.
The family is fascinated by the statue and Harry's art, and Harry is touched by the family's genuine interest in his work. He explains that he gave up on art after his own mermaid, a young woman named Lorraine, died in a swimming accident. The family encourages Harry to complete the statue in Lorraine's memory, and in doing so Harry begins to come out of his shell and open up to Shirley.
Meanwhile, Keith and Laurie find an old motorboat on the island and decide to take it for a spin. They soon find themselves caught in a dangerous current and are rescued by a group of mermaids. The mermaids explain to Keith and Laurie that they have been having trouble with humans polluting the oceans and destroying their habitat. They ask for the Partridge family's help in spreading awareness about the importance of preserving the oceans and marine life.
Back on land, the family works together with Harry to complete the mermaid statue, which turns out to be a beautiful and moving tribute to Lorraine. They also put on a concert to raise awareness for ocean conservation, and are surprised to find the mermaids in the audience. The family is touched by the mermaids' willingness to help them spread the word, and realizes the importance of protecting the oceans and marine life.
In "Where Do Mermaids Go?", the Partridge family embark on an adventure that leads them to discover the beauty of art and the importance of protecting the environment. The episode features touching moments between the family and Harry, as well as an important message about ocean conservation.
