In Parks & Recreation season 6 episode 5 titled "Filibuster," Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) is determined to pass a bill that would turn a plot of land into a National Park. However, Councilman Jamm (Jon Glaser) is determined to stop her by using a filibuster tactic.
Leslie decides to use her own filibuster to counter Jamm's, so she begins an epic speech about the importance of parks. Meanwhile, the rest of the Parks department tries to distract Jamm and keep him from using the bathroom, as that would end Leslie's filibuster.
As the filibuster continues, Leslie's speech takes some twists and turns, as she talks about her favorite TV shows, her love life, and even breaks out into a musical number. However, as time passes, Leslie's voice begins to weaken, and she starts to struggle to find new things to talk about.
In an effort to help Leslie, her friends and coworkers take turns stepping in and continuing the filibuster. However, each person has their own unique way of filibustering, and their speeches become more and more absurd.
Meanwhile, Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) is busy trying to get a building permit for a new construction project. However, he finds himself entangled in a web of bureaucracy, and he begins to question whether government is really the answer to all problems.
As Leslie's filibuster reaches its final hours, she must find a way to rally her supporters and overcome Councilman Jamm's filibuster. The fate of the National Park may rest on her ability to talk until she can't talk anymore.
In the end, "Filibuster" is a hilarious and heartfelt episode that showcases the show's talented cast and their ability to make even the most mundane government processes entertaining. Fans of Parks & Recreation will not want to miss this episode.
