In the first episode of season six of Parks & Recreation, titled "London," the gang heads across the pond to jolly old England. Ben has landed a job with a consulting firm in London, and while Leslie is sad to say goodbye, she's excited to make the trip across the pond.
Once they arrive, it's clear that the gang is in for a bit of culture shock. Ron is dismayed by the lack of meat options at the pub they visit and Andy is baffled by the accents, but Leslie is excited to see London's famous landmarks. Tom, on the other hand, is more interested in the city's nightlife.
Things take a turn when Leslie learns that her trip to London isn't all fun and games. The reason for the trip is for her to speak at an international conference about women in government. Leslie's speech is a huge hit, but things go awry when her remarks about gender equality land her in hot water with a British politician.
Meanwhile, back in Pawnee, April is left in charge of the Parks Department. She's determined to prove herself as a capable leader, but her unorthodox tactics ruffle some feathers. April's husband, Andy, is also struggling with being away from his friends and job - especially when he learns that his alter ego, Johnny Karate, isn't as popular back home as he thought.
As the episode progresses, the gang navigates their new surroundings and tries to make the most of their time in London. Ron gets into a bit of trouble with the local police, Tom embraces the city's fashion scene, and Leslie tries to make amends with the politician she offended.
Overall, "London" serves as a fun and exciting start to season six of Parks & Recreation. The episode explores the characters' strengths and weaknesses as they find themselves in unfamiliar territory, and sets the stage for what's sure to be another hilarious and heartwarming season.
